Government Relations

Our chapter remains active, on a state & federal level, with respect to Government Relations. We have a full-time employee directing their focus toward this endeavor. As many people with physical challenges are aware, our needs vary from the general population. Some of these areas of interest include:

• A more aggressive parking law, that keeps fraud in procuring a handicapped parking placard, to a minimum.

• Insuring that the stringent Florida building codes aren’t superseded by the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). Some sections of our Florida codes are even more stringent than ADA.

We remain active in government relations for the benefit of all chapter members and we try to keep you all as up-to-date as possible.
