Excecutive
Director
Since
I don’t know of any rules explaining what an Executive Director should
or shouldn’t mention in their column, I just try to tell it as I’ve
seen it for the past month. In that light, we’ve had a great month, good
things are happening. First and foremost we had a visit from our Liaison Vice
President. Well, look at that title, probably you, as was I, were expecting
some stuffy, staid person who would look down on our efforts and pronounce us
wanting. Well, surprise, surprise, the lady is so nice, warm and friendly, she
really charmed us all. She liked us, our chapter, our programs; she even enjoyed
the chili and corn bread. She took notes on the things we need and promised
to see what she could help us accomplish. It was a great visit, made even greater
by her wonderful, outgoing personality. Thank you, Laura Ellington, for being
the kind, caring person you are, even when I went on a rant about certain deficiencies.
Next
wonderful happening was the convention. I stayed in the office ‘cause
someone had to handle the phones while Steve & Ken were conventioning (Is
that a word?). But, from the stories related to me, we did very well. That Liaison
Vice President I just spoke of was already on the job and arranged a meeting
for us with some of the folks we needed to see to further our work. They were
interested and willing to join us in reaching our goals. During the convention
we learned that our programs are on track, also, most of our ideas were received
with interest. It’s good to know that all our guy’s efforts are
noticed.
The raffle goes apace. We’re selling tickets in odd places since we don’t have a set venue, but still, we’re selling tickets. That’s the important point. Please, please, if you want tickets call us! Or, just send in your check and we’ll write out your tickets and mail you the stubs. Every dollar counts.
We need
your support!!
Remember,
if you need us, we’re here to help.
