Hospital Liaison

Thank you to the two veterans who literally “stepped up to the plate” and called to tell me about their annual evaluations. Shame on the guys and gals who went through their evaluations, but didn’t bother to call me. Even more shame on the people who won't contact me to tell me why you won’t go. I can’t even get the key in the ignition of this vehicle if I don’t have your help. I’ve offered to come to you and buy your lunch, just to hear your story. I’m doing all that I can, but without you there’s no way we can get the system fixed. This is my last call. If you want to suffer with the way things are, if you want to neglect your health because you don’t like the way the system is run, I can’t help you. But, think of all your comrades out here who want to take care of themselves and are still stuck in the same system. We’re all in this together. Do something good for them.

Outreach

I’ve been moving so fast and furiously this month that I’ve not had the time to settle down and write about it. All I have to tell you is that our Outreach Program is growing. More and more people are joining us. This month we welcomed the Florida Association of Centers for Independent Living. So, if you know a veteran with SCI or disease, M/S or ALS, please feel free to tell him or her about us and give them our phone number. We welcome them one and all. There’s help and support here but we have to find them in order to meet their needs.
