Fishing-

Fla. Disabled Anglers- Oct. 16, 12th Street Ramp - Downtown Clermont Chain
Hey, the bass are actively biting and the schoolers are up... So plan on coming out for the last event on the Clermont Chain. Kris Carver is leading the fourteen disabled anglers and Bobby Bader is heading up the Boat Captains, but neither is a runaway for the year. We have had more boat captains show up than disabled anglers, which is great, but where are the other disabled anglers?

The annual meeting of the Florida Disabled Anglers will be in either late December or early January. At that time we will elect the Board and set the schedule for 2012, all those who are interested please call Ken Carter or me at the CFPVA office.

The final event of the PVA Bass Tour was in New Hampshire last month. Tony Choe, the Angler of the Year (and PVA representative to the BASS Federation Championship) locked up enough points to qualify before that event. Ron Ryals and I are currently 8th and 7th in the points for Angler of the Year on the trail.

Word is that there will be changes next season for the 2012 Bass Trail in the point distribution and to the Bank division format. The tentative 2012 Trail schedule is posted on the National PVA website.
Hand Cycling-

“Rims on the Run” will be held Oct. 22 & 23 in DeLand, Fl. Questions? Call Mike Sprouse at the office. He also has info on other cycling and Quad Rugby events.
The Veteran’s Games-

For 2012 will be held in Richmond, VA. The chapter has several members honing their skills in preparation for the games. It would be great to send a team form CFPVA and the other Florida chapters.

Hunting and Shooting-
The season is going to be on us quickly and we could use someone to help us coordinate the hunts. We were told the range out of Sanford would be interested in accommodating our members, but I have not followed up on that yet.

Funds-
Grants for registered, active members of our chapter are available for our various sports programs, but you must be involved with us and our sports program to qualify for these funds.

Fisher House-
The Chapter is one of the sponsors of the Veterans Day Fisher House 5K “Run-Walk –Roll” on November 11th To be held near the University of Florida in Gainesville. This is to raise funds for their Fisher House which supports our members, families and military members in need of housing at the hospital. Contact Fisher House at www.gainesvillefisherhouse.org for further information.
